Question 1

What printmaking services does North Shore Printmaking Studio offer?

Accepted Answer

North Shore Printmaking Studio supports a range of printmaking projects, including plate preparation, inking, proofing, and hand-printing on the press. The studio works with artists who want help producing editions, experimental prints, or one-off pieces, and the process is tailored to the needs of each plate and image.

Question 2

What is included when I book a printmaking session at the studio?

Accepted Answer

A typical session includes access to the studio workspace, basic printmaking tools, and guidance on how to work with ink and plate safely and effectively. Depending on the project, the studio may also help with paper selection, press setup, and the printing steps needed to complete your images.

Question 3

How is pricing usually determined for printmaking projects at North Shore Printmaking Studio?

Accepted Answer

Pricing is typically based on the amount of time, materials, and studio setup needed for the work. Factors like the size of the plate, the type of ink used, the number of colour layers, and whether the project needs hand-printing or special finishing can all affect the final cost.

Question 4

Can I get a quote before starting, and what details help make it accurate?

Accepted Answer

Yes, a quote can usually be prepared once the studio has a clear idea of your plate size, edition quantity, paper choice, and any specific ink or process requests. If the project includes cleanup, consultation, or multiple proofing rounds, those details may also be reflected in the estimate so the pricing stays practical and clear.
